Wherever you look at the land of Ternopil – everywhere you will find beauty. Whether it is a medieval fortress, the monastery of the Sisters of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, or the Dniester canyon or modern buildings and courtyards of the people of Ternopil – everything here carries a positive charge. Chortkiv
Despite its ambiguous name, Chortkiv is a very pleasant, cozy city. Many historical and architectural monuments have been preserved here. The city is intertwined with many different cultures (owned by Turks, Poles, Austro-Hungarians), which eventually made it what you can see now. Walking through the streets of ancient Chortkiv, you feel the breath of the ages.
Two town halls (Chortkiv residents consider the Town Hall and the clock tower over the ancient guest house, which is architecturally different from traditional guesthouses), St. Stanislaus Church, founded by Dominican monks, which for many years served not only as a cult building but also a fortress where locals could gather. attackers.

Her silhouette, circulated in cultural publications, in reality, seems even more beautiful. After all, the outstanding architect Bernard Martin and the genius Ukrainian sculptor Johann-Georg Pinzel invested their masterpiece and soul in this masterpiece.
The oldest monument in Buchach is Buchach Castle, which was one of the six famous fortresses in Galicia in the XIV century, researchers believe that a fragment of the castle has survived since the last quarter of the 14th century.

Pilgrims are received here from all over, regardless of religion, so that they have only God in their hearts and go with bright intentions. It is a wonderful place for knowledge and rest, prayers, spiritual renewal. At the tomb of the founder of the monastery – Blessed Marceline of Darovo, women usually ask for the birth of their first children and pray for the healing of sick children.

Dzhurynsky waterfall

For a long time, the Turks could not take the fortress, which stood in the valley and was surrounded by a river. Then they resorted to tricks: after exploring the surrounding area, they blew up a mountain on the river and changed its course. The water receded from the fortress. The Turks captured it, and the river flowed in another way, forming a waterfall, the only flat waterfall in Ukraine.
The remains of the fortress were rebuilt into a castle, which was destroyed during the First World War. Only one and a half towers and the walls of the church remain. There are many caves and underground passages under the castle, and a ghost is said to live in the walls. Whether this is the case or not, you can find out only by staying overnight in the valley near Dzhurynsky waterfall.
