We have heard more than once that Russian girls are the most beautiful. But there is another side to this beauty: our compatriots more often than others overdo it with makeup and sometimes cross the line between sexuality and vulgarity.
We decided to find out what mistakes only Russians make in makeup.
I will say right away: I am sure that not only Russian girls can make these makeup mistakes. However, my experience of communicating with strangers abroad nevertheless made it possible to identify a number of mistakes by which one can easily distinguish a Russian girl from the crowd.
The biggest makeup mistakes
Pearlescent pencil on the upper and lower eyelids
Not a single European girl will dare to do this, but our beauties are sure that there is no better way to highlight the eyes than to circle them with a bright pencil.
Colored shadows with a lot of mother-of-pearl. Since morning. For sportswear.
I am by no means saying that colored and shiny shadows are bad. But there are still concepts of evening and daytime makeup; lately, they are very conditional, but still. Only a Russian girl, going for a walk, puts on her make-up as if she is not wearing a sports suit, but an evening dress. Interestingly, even during vacations and trips, our compatriots find time to do bright makeup, sometimes it looks strange.
Too thin plucked eyebrows
Despite the fact that everyone around is talking about the fashion for wide and natural eyebrows, many Russian beauties for the time being continued to wield tweezers. If somewhere in Europe you see a girl with thinly plucked eyebrows, you can try to address her in Russian.
Excessively defined eyebrows
Another extreme. In their desire to achieve the effect of “sable eyebrows”, our girls sometimes do not know the measure. As a result, we see two wide black lines on the face.

Aggressive arrows, drawn from the heart by a skilled hand, are another of our hallmarks. And it doesn’t matter that we are talking about a daytime look. A Frenchwoman, for example, if she draws arrows, then only for an evening out and only very thin, barely noticeable.

The misconception that shadows need to be matched to the color of the eyes is alive in Russia, like nowhere else. Blue-eyed girls choose blue and blue shadows, green-eyed girls buy palettes exclusively in green shades, and so on. As a result, the makeup looks somewhat tasteless and does not make the eyes of its owner more expressive.

I’ll tell you a secret: you need to select a foundation either in tone to match the skin, or half a tone lighter. But it doesn’t get any darker! The Russian woman, on the contrary, is constantly sinning with dark “tonalniks”.
Highly defined cheekbones with a characteristic reddish bronzer
There has always been a fashion for contouring in Russia: our girls are constantly trying to achieve the effect of “predatory cheekbones”. True, for some reason, these sunken cheekbones are always drawn with a reddish bronzer, which makes the complexion not only not natural but even a little painful. With blush, the same story, many girls constantly overdo it, making this mistake when applying makeup.
