It turns out that excessive interest in social networks can lead to an emotional and physical betrayal of a partner. This conclusion was made by researchers from the University of Missouri.
Scientists conducted a study in which 580 Twitter users of different gender and age took part. The authors of the experiment paid attention to how often users visited their page, how many messages they published and viewed by subscription, and how actively they responded to subscribers. At the same time, the researchers were interested in how often the subjects had conflicts with their partners.
After processing all the information, it turned out that the conflict in a couple directly depends on the activity of a person on the Twitter network.
Misunderstanding and quarrels are explained by the fact that due to communication in social networks, relationships lose their former romance – partners emotionally move away from each other. In some cases, social networks can even provoke adultery.
Previously, the same group of scientists examined the impact of Facebook on partner relationships – the conclusions were identical. In addition, the researchers found that the risk of separation was especially high in people who were in a close relationship for 3 years.
