The region hopes to receive more than 3.5 million tourists and is looking forward to the arrival of the European low-cost carrier
More than 50 tourist routes for the summer tourist season were presented by the districts of the Kherson region, united territorial communities, and the city of Kherson during the official
opening of the tourist season in the Kherson region, which took place on May 1 in the Kamyanskaya Sich (Republican village, Berislav district).
The districts of the Kherson region have developed and presented 55 tourist routes for the summer tourist season: Oleshkiv Sands, Kamyanska Sich, Askania Nova Nature Reserve, recreation at sea.
One of the new routes we are presenting today is Lake Lemuria, ”said Andriy Gordeyev, Head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, at the opening of the tourist season. “We provide an opportunity to develop the tourism industry, we are looking for investors, but the main thing to attract business – we need to repair roads,” – said the head of the Kherson Regional State Administration.
During the official opening of the tourist season, Henichesk, Skadovsk, Oleshkiv, Chaplin, Beryslav, Holoprystan, Belozersk, Kalanchak districts, as well as the cities of Nova Kakhovka, Gola Prystan, Kherson, and Prysyva OTG presented their tourist potential.
The main attractions of the Kherson region are the Black and Azov Seas, as well as the lakes Sivash and Lemuria, the only desert in Europe “Oleshkiv Sands”, the region has significant opportunities for green and ecotourism. In particular, in the Kherson region, there are two biosphere reserves out of four that exist in Ukraine – “Askania Nova” and the Black Sea Biosphere Reserve.
“All these facilities need cars and air connections with other regions, which we are actively developing. You can come to us from anywhere in the world and relax, and our main goal is to come to us, not us, “said Andriy Gordeyev. According to him, today there is active work on attracting one of the European low-cost companies to the region, which should start flying by the end of 2019.
