BUG FIXES OF UPDATE KB5012643

The following Windows 11 errors are eliminated by installing the update.

  • The update adds improvements for servicing the Windows Secure Boot component.
  • Addresses an issue that causes the AppX Deployment Service (AppXSvc) to stop working after installing certain MSIX apps.
  • Fixes a race condition that occurs early in the start process that can cause a stop error.
  • It enhances the Autopilot client to handle updated Trusted Platform Module ( TPM) features that support self-provisioning and pre-provisioning scenarios.
  • It changes the Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) registration timeout from 60 minutes to 90 minutes for hybrid Azure AD-connected Autopilot scenarios. This also fixes a race condition that causes an exception on timeout.
  • Addresses an issue where the certain point of sale terminals occasionally experience delays in booting the operating system during a reboot of up to 40 minutes.
  • Addresses a memory leak issue affecting Windows systems that are used 24 hours a day, every day of the week.
  • Addresses an issue affecting Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol ( DHCP) option 119 (domain lookup option) by preventing the use of the connection-specific DNS suffix lookup list.
  • Addresses an issue affecting the title attribute in Microsoft Ege IE mode.
  • Addresses an issue where mobile device management (MDM) policies were not allowed for Windows Enterprise editions upgraded to Enterprise with Azure AD subscription entitlement.
  • Addresses an issue that may cause video subtitles to be partially truncated.
  • Update KB5012643 fixes an issue that causes video subtitles to misalign.
  • It fixes an issue that causes Kerberos authentication to fail and the error is “0xc0030009 (RPC_NT_NULL_REF_POINTER)”. This occurs when a client computer tries to use Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) to connect to another computer while Remote Credential Guard is enabled.
  • Addresses an issue that causes Windows to switch to BitLocker recovery after a servicing update.
  • Addresses an issue that prevents the Endorsement Key (EK) certificate from being retrieved from the TPM device.
  • Addresses an issue where the security portion of a Group Policy might fail to be copied to a computer.
  • Addresses an issue that prevents the Microsoft RDP client control, version 11 and later, from being instantiated within a Microsoft Foundation Class (MFC) dialog box.
  • Displays the temperature above the weather icon on the taskbar.
  • Addresses an issue that prevents you from using the minimize, maximize, and close buttons in a maximized app window. This problem occurs because the notification center keeps the input focus.
  • Addresses an issue that may occur when you use Netdom.exe  or the Active Directory Domains And Trusts snap-in to enumerate or change the routing of name suffixes. These procedures can fail. The error message is: “There are not enough system resources to complete the requested service.” This issue occurs after installing the January 2022 security update on the primary domain controller emulator (PDCe).
  • Addresses an issue that causes the root domain’s primary domain controller (PDC) to generate warning and error events in the system log. This problem occurs when the PDC incorrectly tries to validate outgoing trusts.
  • Addresses an issue that occurs when you map a network drive to a Server Message Block (SmBv1) share. After restarting the operating system, you can no longer access this network drive.
  • Addresses an issue that affects an SMB multi-channel connection and may generate a 13A or C2 error.
  • KB5012643 addresses an issue that corrupts a pool when a client-side caching (CSC) eviction method fails to delete a created resource.
  • Addresses an issue that could cause the server to lock up as the non-child pool grows and occupies all memory. After a restart, the same problem occurs again when you try to fix the damage.
  • It reduces resource contention overhead in high input/output operations per second (IOPS) scenarios where many threads are fighting for a single file.
