Is there an appropriate age to see a plastic surgeon? We figured out this issue together with an expert.

Many women think that their 40th birthday is a reason to make an appointment with a surgeon. Some find changes in the mirror at 25 but think it’s too early to think about plastic. Both of them are wrong in their own way. When is it really time to resort to anti-aging operations? The plastic surgeon answered our questions.

At what age should plastic surgery be performed?

The indication for anti-aging plastic is not the number of years lived, but the presence of age-related changes, especially when it comes to the face. At the first consultation, an experienced doctor may not even ask about the age of the patient in order to assess the situation objectively. Everyone has different genetic predispositions and living conditions: sometimes young women with pronounced facial changes come to the appointment. Of course, in this case, it is more reasonable to have an operation at the age of 30-35 in order to continue to live fully and for your own pleasure.

In other words, there are no specific periods when it is too early to think about plastic, too late, or it’s time for everyone without exception. The issue should be resolved only on an individual basis, and the only guideline is the patient’s satisfaction with her appearance. There is no general rule regarding age and cannot be.

How to determine the moment when it is time to contact a plastic surgeon?

Ideally, you should come to the doctor’s office when signs of age appear. Then the operation will be more efficient, and the result will be stable.

For example, it often happens that a woman about forty years old comes to an appointment – she is still young and looks good, but there are already age-related changes that disturb her. They are not yet pronounced, so the correction is easy and gives an excellent result. After the operation, the age of the patient is indeterminate, and in this state, the woman seems to be frozen for the next ten years. Around 50, a number of small aesthetic improvements may be required, after which the patient may look 30.

However, if a woman first turns to a plastic surgeon when the facial structures have already undergone serious age-related changes, it is almost impossible to achieve such a brilliant result. The effect of the operation, of course, will be, but it will not work to rewind time by 20 visual years.

That is, the best time to see a doctor comes when there are age-related changes, but they are still insignificant.

What surgeries are popular among patients in their 20s, 40s, and 60s?

Young girls most often resort to the following types of surgery:

  • Rhinoplasty;
  • Correction of the shape of the auricles;
  • Europeanization of the century;
  • Otoplasty;
  • Bullhorn, if anatomically the girl has a long upper lip;
  • Modeling of the chin with an underdeveloped lower jaw.

Around 40, a lot depends on genetics, individual characteristics, and attitudes towards age-related changes, which are still mild in many, and very noticeable in some. But general trends can be identified.

After forty more often do:

  • Blepharoplasty;
  • Forehead lift;
  • Facelift.

All of the above operations can be shown to ladies who have reached the age of sixty.

What age-related problems are solved by plastic surgery?

Without exaggeration, we can say that almost all age-related changes can be corrected if they are taken on time.

Modern plastic surgery eliminates such problems as:

  • Pronounced transverse wrinkles on the forehead;
  • Swelling, hernia, and excess skin in the periorbital region;
  • Lacrimal grooves;
  • Deep nasolabial fold;
  • Drooping of the upper lip and corners of the mouth;
  • Pursed, hypertrophied chin;
  • Loss of clarity of the oval of the face.

The list goes on.

After aesthetic correction, the patients get a young look, well-defined cheekbones, a smooth transition to the middle face zone, a sexy lip contour, a graceful chin, and a tightened neck-chin angle. After a facelift, the quality of the skin improves by an order of magnitude due to the germination of new vessels and the stimulation of collagenases.

However, any reputable surgeon will advise you not to neglect trips to a beautician: caring procedures keep the skin in good condition and provide the most impressive results of rejuvenating operations.

The decision that it is time to consult a plastic surgeon does not depend on the number in the passport, but on how much you like the reflection in the mirror. Youth is love for yourself and for life. The main thing is to apply for auxiliary means for highly qualified specialists.
